Artists Margo Gracey, Bonnie Bews and Andrea Turnbull have come together to bring art lovers a new studio tour experience in Muskoka: EXHALE.

Established to celebrate the experience of visiting an artist where they work, the group’s name is inspired by the feeling of visiting an enchanting place.

“EXHALE is that breath you release after experiencing something amazing or fantastic,” says Andrea Turnbull. “We all have very different studios, but people get the same feeling when they visit each one. We’ve all created special places.”

The three studios of EXHALE are open Tuesdays through Sundays, giving people a chance to take a mini studio tour around Lake Muskoka any time.

Just south of Gravenhurst, visitors will find watercolour artist Margo Gracey’s Bramblewood Studio, where mature gardens overflow with English charm. On her woodland path, visitors will find intriguing garden art and paintings designed to withstand the elements.

A skip north is the Hinterglas Castle where painter Bonnie Bews uses a special technique called hinterglas to bring the mysterious world of faeries to life. A visit to this real-life fairytale castle is an adventure that will enchant the whole family.

In Port Carling is folk artist Andrea Turnbull’s Thyme of the Season.  This studio has become home to Turnbull’s whimsical sculptures that can be found throughout her lakeshore property.  Her sense of humour and display of colourful characters make this stop a joyful experience.

“We’re offering a small tour that people can take any time, because we’re three studios that have regular hours and an exceptional experience,” says Bonnie Bews. “We’re three artists who are constantly inventing and evolving, and we each love to let our visitors into very different, wonderful worlds.”
